Arrived in Mexico City last night, and Nicola efficiently organised a hostel, which we arrived at 00:30 last night. It´s the nicest hostel I have ever stayed in, and at only $10 a night, a real bargin. Today we went and looked at some of the presidential buildings in the nearby square, including a huge cathedral and the presidential residence. We ventured onto the metro and went a bit further out to see a castle, complete with amazing interior decor and furniture, and explored this MSSIVE park. The park was awesome, beautiful lake, sculptures, botanical gardens and monuments. Unfortuantely we got lost a lot, and now after a day of walking my feet are killing me.

The city isn´t as crazy as I thought it would be, and really clean compared to Indian cities. Although it might be quite dangerous at night, during the dya you do not get hassled a lot. We´ve been practicing our Spanish, and I am really looking forward to our Spanish course so I can really learn the language.

I had my first Mexican meal, a tortilla with mushrooms and cheese. Not the greastest. Food here tends to be very heavy, fatty and they do not understand vegetarians! Ah well, I am sure I will adapt.

Well off for a nap, and a shower. Although pleasantly hot, still a bit sticky and walking aorund, my feet are filthy. Going to visit some Mayan temples tomorrow and then off to Merida on Saturday.
