Horrid
This poor bird had been shot by some idiot with a cross bow and was running around like this untill the D.O.C. got there to help it. There is nothing that my memory forgets which my soul does not remember...

The most precious things I have found so far on this journey, is the experiance itself. With that comes the memory of all the good and bad that happens, which, mostly for us is collected in our photographs. Luggage lost or stolen, even laptops, computers and mp3 players, while a right pain to go missing, is usually all replaceable. Its when we lose our minds, our memories that we seems to lament more than usual. My biggest sympathy has always gone to the traveller whos photos, memory cards and cd's have dissapered. I lost my memory card last month but had thankfully backed up my photos onto cd so wasn't too perturbed. Being a month behind in my blog due to the arrival and change of pace in Queenstown, it has taken me till now to come to finish off the road trip. And as I opened the cd to upload the images, it wasn't there...
Maybe i'll be lucky enough to find it again but I cannot think for the life of my why it has gone. None of the internet cafes have it and its not at eityher of the last places I stayed
Knife making
well... axe thowing in Barrytown at 😞 However, there are worse things in life and I had managed to put some of them up to Facebook before they vanished. So, for thoise of you interested, here are the Facebook albums:
The Journey II The Journey III Fox Glacier Knife making in Barrytown Our last port of call before arriving in QT was Wanaka where they had the amazing puzzle world. A great hour or two here with illusions and tricks. Although I was rather annoyed that it took me the longest to get out of the ruddy maze! Check out these small video clips:
Einstein watch ur head chris So the road trip itself turned out to have been an awesome time. Ok, so I had dreamed it up in the summer and hadn't thought to how cold it weas going to be. My back woke me around 5am each morning and I thought I was doomed on the ferry crossing. But the knife making, the Glacier, the fishing, the change of scenery each day, the sun rises and the company of Chris and Nicky was priceless. Freedom got us to Queenstown and has since died, so job done, you sod of a van!
Since arriving in Queenstown I
have fallen in love with the place. Its just stunning. The mountains set behind the lake and the views are breathtaking. I have since found a place to stay with an Aussie called Neil. Its simple and basic but central and warm. And, which is more, for the first time in 8 months, I have my own room. My own, warm, room with a double bed and the peace and privacy that I can withdraw to should I wish, total heavan. What is of a worry is finding a job as its rammed here already and work is very hard to find. There's no way i'm going to be able to stay without one. Freedom needs fixed, hopefully just a new altenator. I have all the other things I need, skis, boots, sticks, warm clothes, ski pass and a swing park by the cabin, bonus!
Its funny you know, cos the 3 things that I said I would stay somewhere for; person, place and job, and as I find for the first time one of those 3, if I dont get work soon, i'm going to have to leave QT and head prematurly to South America. Not that i'd

The glacier I mean! mind that but I really want to give thins place its due. Change is the spice of life and i'm quite happy now to settler here for a few months. Fingers crossed...
Well, I know this has been a less interesting and informative blog, but the loss of the photos is quite uninspiring. The traveller hopes to hang his boots for a while and take in the surrounding environment, gets a job and goes skiing...
