Beijing

Hi everyone!! We are in Beijing at the mo and finally its really hot!!! It's very different to Japan and nowhere near as safe, but we love it! We are staying in a converted house in a Houtong which is really nice. We have visited Tian An Men Square, Forbidden City, Bei Hai Park, Temple of Heaven, and 2 temples, 1 buddhist and one confuscian (really weird!) We loved all the sites desite the touts who arent as bad as they could be!! We also learnt to line dance with some lovely folk in the park aka Paul Merton on his show! We havent been to the market to see dodgy animals yet, maybe we'll find time!!

Last night we went to see a Kung Fu show which was fun except I nearly got mugged! Steve averted disaster, what a star!! so all goods remain intact!!

Today we ate a veggie restaurant opposite the temple which specialises in making food look like meat which was fun, if not a little weird...I'll try to put on some pictures but the internet is slow here....

Tomorrow we are going to the Great wall and then in a couple days to Xi'an to see the Terracotta Army.... hopefully we will escape the pollution outside Beijing!!
