So its official! We got married and it was gorgeous. This will be a short entrance. I plan on putting all the pictures on once we get the final CD from the photographer. Give me a week or so. But so you all don't get too ancy (how do you spell that?) here are a few to keep you happy while you wait.

God blessed us with a gorgeous day with sun, a beautiful setting, great food and most importantly a great group of friends and family. My parents and 4 close friends from the states were able to come and share in this big day with us. Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers. Keep a look out in the mail for an announcement.

The wedding site is a house out in the semi-country of Santiago. Carlos found it of the internet. It was incredible and beautiful and the weather was awesome minus a little wind. Here is the website with more pics: www.parcelaperdiz.unlugar.com

I wanted a low-key wedding but that is hard to find in Chile. Chair covers, formal dinner setting, blah blah blah. I fought hard against it but in the end had to cave because I couldnt find a place to rent plastic lawn chairs and had to go with white covered ones. Oh-well. But we selected a fall theme with all colors. We put leaf candles and frames with pictures of us with our families/friends from growing up. We also placed a homemade placemat with a crossword and wordsearch about the happy couple. something new for the Chileans. They seemed to like it

I went to the big flower market in Santiago the Thursday before the wedding. They get the shipment on Thrusday and the flower shops rom ALL over Chile, literally, start coming at 3am to select their flowers and drive them back to their respective cities. The load up this big vans with flowers and then drive the 10-15 hours back to their town. I got their with my momo and Carlos around 6:45 am. It was beautiful. And cheap.

Sometimes I still can't believe that I got married. But then I remember that I found my wonderful christian latin lover and couldn't live without him. I love you Carlos!

This woman is 80-something years old and still lives alone. She just retired maybe 3 ago. She is incredible. We had people carry their chairs from the ceremony site to their tables. She picked hers up and started carrying it. We took it from her and she went and got another! She rocks!

Thanks for coming and supporting me. It was at times a bitter sweet experience because I couldnt have all my family and friends there so your presence was really really important to me. Thanks!

the cake

My mom made the cake or shall I saw mini-brownies. Carlos fell in love the with brownies last year and I thought it would be fun to do something different. Brownies don´t really exist in Chile so my mom brought boxes and boxes of mix down with here and cooked like 3 days straight in an overn with out temperature control (in the sense that it has high, medium and low settings thats it.) But it turned out beautiful. Thanks mom!
The meat! The meat!
The meat!

This was Carlos'favorite part about the wedding. We did a traditional chilean bbq. The man arrived 3 hrs. before the reception to start the grilling. There was smoke and the smell of meat throught the ceremony! We started with churipan which are little chorizo sausages in mini buns. Then we had a bbq with salads, etc. It was really good. I wish I had eaten more meat. My 1 regret.

This is Meg, my bestfriend from home. She came down from med school in CHicago to be my maid of honor. Thanks Meg! I owe you more than you will ever know. I love you!
The knee gameThe knee game
The knee game

This game I stole from Tom Briggs'wedding. You select 5 or 6 girls to sit in chairs and the groom is blindfolded. He has to touch their knees and select who is his bride. It was hiliarious and got better when our pastor, who is very quiet and reserved, jumped up from his chair and traded spots with me. The crowd roared. It was great!!!

I threw it and Carlos'sister Naty caught it. She has a serious boyfriend Pato and they talk about getting married all the time. But are too young. Someday.

Jealous--Wish I Could Have Been There!
It looks like your day was truly memorable! (That BBQ sounds particularly appealing.) Really glad you could use the leg-groping game ('tho I can't take credit for it, it was Lena--Robin's Italian aunt who brought it up. Many blessings on you and Carlos, we're praying for you!

I am so glad you sent the photo gallery! I felt like I, too, was there with you! I'm one of those people who have known you since you were an embryo, Tori. I remember you as a student in my kindergarten class. Oh my, I'm rambling. Can you see my smile? Can you feel my hug? Karyn
