It's been 9 days now since we arrived in Fiji and it is the fastest 9 days of the trip so far!!! We arrived in Nadi and spent the first night there before a very early pick up of 7.15 the following morning to go to the islands. We decided to spend the majority of our time on the island and get some rest and relaxation after a very busy time in New Zealand.

The first island that we booked was Long beach. On arriving there we were greeted with your picture perfect island and we thought we could handle three nights here!!! It is a beautiful island and we took advantage of our surroundings. The most exertion we had was a leisurely snorkel and a walk down the beach. The rest of our time was taken up with lying on the beach or swinging in a hammock, not a bad life eh!!! However on the 2nd day our beautiful island didn't look quite as beautiful as it rained for the entire day so we were stuck indoors for the whole day with just our books for entertainment!!!

So after 3 days at long beach we were ready for something with a bit more life and headed to Coral view beach resort further up north. There was a lot more going on at Coral view and we decided to book some trips. Our 1st trip was to go and see some limestone caves. The caves were spectacular. You have to swim into them and then you have to swim under water to get into the other caves. To get into one of the caves you have to go through something called the pregnancy cave. It's called this because it's that much of a tight squeeze to get in that if you're pregnant you can't fit in. After 5 months of eating out and sampling many a fine beer around the world it seems that I very nearly am pregnant!!!! The next cave we had to swim under water to get into it which was also really cool. Our next trip was to the Blue lagoon which is basically a really beautiful beach that was made famous by that cheesy 80's film of the same name with Brooke Shields in. We went snorkeling there which was amazing!!! The sea was really clear and we got to see hundreds of fish. We found Nemo (AkA a clown fish) and saw a reef shark which was unbelievable. I also saw a huge moray eel which had huge teeth and Karen even got her own personal escort by 2 little yellow and black fish which wouldn't leave her side!!!!

The rest of our time in Fiji has been taken up with lots of hammock testing. I am thinking of going for the job of chief hammock tester!!!! This travel blog has obviously been a lot more brief than our others as I guess there's only so much you can say about relaxing!!! Our next and last stop is America and we fly into L.A tonight, then there's just 2 weeks between there and home!! Boo Hoo!!!!
