Well another week has come and gone. Not much has happened lately. The surf has been really meager lately and so I havnt been since last weekend. I went to school only three days this week. On tuesday I got sick and stayed home in bed all day. It was rather lame because it was a really nice day, perfect weather for the beach. So I stayed in bed and slept most of the day feeling like crap and feeling even worse because it was such a beautiful day. Wednesday I had a big maths test which I did really bad on. I didn't even finish the whole thing. It was a hard test but I think I could have done way better if I had a bit more time. Oh well. Thursday I had soccer tryouts. I did ok but I didnt have any cleats so that was sort of an issue. Compared to everyone else I was about average. There were about twenty kids in all who tried out and the team is gonna consist of 14-15 guys. I dont know if I'll make the team but either way I'm fine with the result. If I dont then I'll
have more time to surf and do other things without worry of any obligations. If I do make the team then I'm sure I'll have a great time too. For tryouts we warmed up a little (which was unnecessary as it was hotter than hell out. I thought I was gonna die of heat stroke by the end) and then we scrimmaged for the rest of the time. At one point during the scrimmage I collided with another kid and we fell down. I landed funny on my wrist and now it's sprained. It's a real bummer because now I cant do anything too strenuous with my left wrist. On Friday four geography classmates and I went on an excursion to the city. We went to a forum on global climate change. It was really boring and we didnt learn much. It was better than a day at school though and I got to see a bit more of the city which was interesting. We took the ferry to and from the city. The ferry is really cool. You go right next to the opera house and really close to the Sydney harbor bridge. Also its just really awesome just
to see everything from the water. I must say Sydney really is a beautiful city. It's not that dirty and overall its definitely one of the most interesting cities I've been in. It has really good public transportation too. Trains/subways, monorails, buses, and ferries are the way everyone gets around. Saturday was a really lazy day of nothing. We just hung out and lounged around. Anna and I made sesame flakseed bars which were delicious. We ended up eating them all. They were so good! Today is Sunday. Richard was supposed to come home today but his plane was delayed for a day so he'll be home tomorrow. Today is a homework day and I've got plenty of it. Also we're gonna have an early easter egg hunt because Anna leaves next week for Peru for five months. It's gonna be a bummer not having a baking buddy around. Oh I found out what I got on my math test. I got a 54.9% which was the third best grade in the class! I was so surprised. I thought everyone did better than me. I haven't taken any new pictures lately so there aren't any to put along with this
entry. I've been a little homesick but not too much. I really miss my dogs a lot and my parents and friends. I dont really want to come back but it would be really cool if they could come visit me here. Ha. I'm getting kind of sick of school. I really wish I could just travel around and do my own thing. See a bit more of the country, backpack some and just hang out not worrying about homework or being on time to school or anything like that. I want to go to the blue mountains and hike some there. On easter weekend we have four days and I think we're gonna go camping/hiking somewhere but I'm not sure about that yet.
We just had an easter egg hunt. It was so much fun. We all had to dress up to search for the eggs. The costumes were so hilarious. After the egg hunt we had a watermelon eating contest between conner rhys and I. It was gnarly. So much fun though. I've never done that before. We were all laughing so hard. Watermelon got all over the place. We then went tandem surfing in 2ft surf. It
was crazy. Good fun!
