TransferTransferTransfer

Our transfer vehicle from airport to guesthouse. 1950s land rover. Bloody brilliant.
Well, we didn't actually travel when we thought we would, due mainly to one of us suffering from the jelly belly - bet you all know who that was!!! Didn't cause major problems as we were able to move our tickets to the following day.

We planned to upload some photos last time from Luang Prabang and couldn't, so this is our second attempt.

We are now in Vientianne after a 10 hour bus journey through the mountains. Very windy, bumpy and narrow roads - a bit hairy, but not as bad as we were led to believe and a number of the views were breathtaking, winding around the mountainside.

We have just spent a day leisurely wandering around the Capital and feel refreshed ready for our flight down to the south tomorrow morning, arranged to pick up our Cambodian visa later this evening so that it makes it easy to cross the border when we finish in the south of Laos.

We have had one message from the mudhut in Wigan, where are all you other natives??

Happy Anniversary to Mum and Dad for the 3rd - hope you celebrated in style.

This is what we got to relax in after 26 hours travelling. Peaceful, quiet, chilled, just what we needed.

We enjoyed a cruise up the Mekong. Saw some wonderful sights, people washing, fishing and cultivating in the river.

Found this ape swimming in his own pool at the fantastic Kuang Xi Falls in Luang Prabang.

Hi
As you are so desparate for messages from home here we go.... Hello favourite brother in law, surprised you want to hear from me as you give a great impression of somebody who can't stand me when you are in UK, well they do say absence makes the heart grow fonder! Sounds like you are both having a great time, not that it was ever doubted. Great views, though not too sure about the ape in pool!

Looks fab
Hi to you both Glad you arrived safe and sound, luv the land rover looks like its not long for this world! Your little house looks very quaint, was it well equipt? Everything is fine here we are just awaiting a very big storm that has been forcast for tonight (sun). 80 mile an hour winds have been predicted so it should be a rough old night. Mike is just about to watch rovers in the quater finals of the FA cup (hope they win) and did you know that barnsley knocked out chelsea yesterday, apparently a fantastic result. Missing you ang! would love to be swimming in the pool even if it is with a silver backed ape! Dave you really looked at home in there just like tarzan. Have fun and be safe lots of love to both of you Karen xxxx
