Our Group of 12 from Oklahoma has arrived and are all here to work together on a great week of evangelism and outdoor preaching in the area of Marangu. We had originally wanted to hold the seminar in Machame, but things didn't work out to where that was able to happen. An open door of opportunity was put before us with a new convert in the northern area of Marangu, an Indian, who has recently relocated here in Tanzania, where he runs a hotel and has a nice home & vehicle, and is wanting to let the church meet there in his home. He has been conducting studies on his own and trying to grow the church in this area.
Those who have just arrived are:
Mathew Richardson
Nicole Richardson
Rickey Nowlin
Danny Vernon
Nancy Hartman
Rodney Minor
Carla Kyle
Brad Whinery
Pamela Hagerman
Grant Tosh
Janet Covalt
Debra Risley
But the group all arrived safely and are all staying in the Leopard hotel here in Moshi, Matt & Nicole being family are getting the 2 extra beds we have here at the house, and we will be picking up everyone at the begining of each day. I
dont have much time to write, as it is getting late and the power has been flickering, so I dont want to loose it all together before getting this sent out. And we all need to get a good night's rest. But I knew you would all enjoy sharing this week's news and pictures right along with us as they happen.
I will try to send out pictures at the end of each day throughout the seminar, with so much going on so that the families and friends back home can see their loved ones are happy, healthy, and busy here in the Lord's work.
I also wanted to send a huge thank you to the church at Sayre and at Elk City for everyone who helped in sending this group over, and for your part in gathering up the goodies for our family that were so sweetly brought over. You have re-stocked our pantry in a mighty way! Cheese! Wow! Cheese! and Honey and Grape Jelly... It all looked so wonderful and was so much more than we ever expected to receive. The girls loved their shoes and went to blowing bubbles right away! We are very
Matt out in the yard at the Richardson's house
early in the mornings you can see the mountain in the distance over the front gate... grateful for everything you have done and are continuing to do to aid the work here in Tanzania.
Today we got all the details worked out, took everyone in to Arusha to the local Maffi Alley market to do some looking around. Two studies were established and set up in Moshi during the morning and a couple of studies were set up there in Arusha, around the market area while we were in town as well. The ladies learned the fine art of bartering and how to walk away, but made a few fun purchases and learned a few good phrases in Swahili to make it around town.
Hope You enjoy the pictures and if there is anyone in the family who wants to be added to the email list, to get the daily pictures just write and let me know, we'll get them on there right away!
In Christian love,
Julie Richardson
