Please notice the new ski googles Freddie got me for my birthday. With the wet snow coming down, they came in very handy!
Before I forgot, I will now be on my fourth translator. Denis resigned on Thursday, but does not have another job. Really since coming back from the States, his attitude has not been the most pleasant and while I was home for the Holidays, he did not do much at all so this may be the best thing, but I hate this process. Does anyone know of an English and Russian speaking translator?...lol

Today, I went skiing with Freddie and Alexander in Moscow at Volen Park (www.volen.ru). For you advance skiers, do not pack your bags and head this way, but it was a lot better than Sochi. There were actually about 10 runs. They were short and we skied most of them which tells you they were not that difficult, but for beginners to intermediate, they were very nice. I thought we would have even better skiing since on Friday it snowed about 6" of snow, but it actually got too warm I think. We are now at 31oF and for us that is very warm. The nice thing about this, it is only 25 miles north of Moscow and it was 1/3 the price for lift, rentals, etc. that we paid in Sochi. It also had a "resort" feel to it. It was at least set up like a resort village and the flow was what you would expect, very different than in Sochi. But again, the runs were very short and they do not actually have a ski lift, but a rope with a bar on it so you did not have to hold completely on to the rope as you could sort of rest on the bar, but it was the lift that wore me out, not the skiing.

Also, the embarassing part, my first fall was going up the lift. Somehow I got my ski going the wrong way and I went the other way as I rolled away so I did not get run over my the next skier coming up the hill....lol My second fall was on purpose as we went down one of the most difficult hills and I got scared so I just feel. I am sure I could have made it, now looking back, but I decided to take the safe route and go down before I actually went down.

But overall, a great day of skiing!

I did not know
I did not know you wanted to go with us. They actually had a great hill for beginners and would have been great to learn on. They also had what looked like good ski instructors. No, it was not just for "pros", it was open to anyone. Sorry, I will make sure to let you know the next time we go.
