Thames
This is the view of the Thames from the Balcony of our hostel ... just kidding ... from the Tate Modern Museum of Art. This is only the first half of the trip. I will post another blog as soon as I find time (maybe tonight or Monday).
Disfruten! ((You all) Enjoy!)
So Bridget and I managed to return from London, Paris, and Dublin safely, believe it or not. However, don’t let my previous statement fool you- the smooth traveling carpet wasn’t just laid out in front of us- oh no- we had to shampoo first …
We did too much for me to sit here and describe everything in detail. So, enjoy my short notes.
LONDON
FRI 6th
We checked in to Tony’s Hostal. At first it seemed scary but by the end of our trip, after staying in King’s Hotel, it was classy. Then, we headed to Leister Square- home of London play tickets (we bought tickets for Stomp) and apparently every American fast food monster. I had lox- (yum!) which, I think, made Bridget want to gag. Afterwars we went to Tate Modern Museum of Art to see the AMAZING Frida Kahlo exhibit in its last days there. We Saw what seemed like every painting/drawing she had ever created. I learned a lot about her. I may
National Gallery
A view of the FREE National Gallery of Art. It is located in Trafalger Square. London was pretty much always cloudy. sorry. have a crush on this uni-browed, dead, womyn …
Went to the famous Trafalgar Square. At TS there was the FREE National Gallery. This place houses SO many different types of art. By this time we were ridiculously tired but we still saw art from several periods- while sitting down. We caught some quick dinner- soup and pockets- and then headed to the theatre to see Stomp.
SAT 7th
Spent tons of time at the famous Portabella Market. This place was basically endless amounts of walking down crowded streets that sell everything from fake Armani Briefs to fake Zebra fur. Ate many a snacks. Then we spent out last few hours in London visiting the Natural History Museum where I learned many new facts about Dinosaurs and Human Biology. Yes, Bob, I am 2. Then, we headed to Paris …
I’m listening to this Swedish CD that Anna (roomie) gave me. Band- Ceasars. CD- “Paper Tigers”. I like it.
PARIS
Anyway, Paris was my favorite. And no, it wasn’t because I actually knew which way the traffic was coming from nor because that is where I FINALLY found some jeans that fit my brown round ass
Trafalgar
Trafalgar square ... see Big Ben in the back on the left? how I like … but because the city was more beautiful, more diverse, and I have an amazing friend, ANDREA, who lives there. Andrea, and her roomies welcomed Bridget and I into her apartment for four days.
SUN 8th
Andrea showed us around. We visited Notre Dame by day- it was smaller than I expected but still way cool. We never got to to the top of it because the line was too long, it cost to much, and the American man who was standing in front of me let out a really nasty fart and I did not want to stand there anymore. Then we walked almost all the way to the Arc du Triunf. champs elysees Headed to the Eiffel Tower but they were evacuating it. So, in our usual fashion … Bridget and I napped on the grass in the park across the street from the Eiffel- for several hours. We were really tired. Then, when we woke up we had ice cream and made friends with the two Men from California that were in line in front of us once we were allowed to return to the Eiffel. Yes, I was scared in the Eiffel
Portobella Market
This is the walking view of Portobella Market. I love when buildings are painted fun colors. I don't think we actually bought anything except lunch. This is when we started to be frugal. elevator. Yes, Bridget was laughing. Then, we had some French dinner which consisted of French Onion Soup and French Fries.
MON 9th
We tried to go to the French catacombs but they were closed. Boo.
Supermarket. Pizza. (sorry some of my notes and most of my memory are quite sucky.)
Later that night Bridget and I hung out with Ezra (an online pal of hers who said he’d show us around). We had some wine at this cozy little bar where, as Ezra told us, if you bring weed you can smoke it upstairs. He took us to Notre Dame. St. Michelle Fountain. Le Marais Neighborhood. Germaine Square. Outside the Modern Art Museum. The Antique Neighborhood. Some Canadian Bar with Live Music on Mondays. The Golden Angel which is their “Democrats” meet after a victory. Bastille. Louve and the plaza at night.
We barely made it home before the trains stopped running. And, as you can probably tell … Ezra showed us a ton of places. Once, again- Europe exhausted us.
Stay tuned, folks, I still have the other half of the trip and more photos to post … tomorrow probably.
