Look around at the nations;
look and be amazed!
For I am doing something in your own day,
something you wouldn’t believe
even if someone told you about it.

This is what I read in my quiet time tonight. Look at the nations- I’m surrounded by people from Uganda. Be amazed at them! And with them! God is doing something in the here and now, as I’m watching. But am I paying attention? He’s doing something I wouldn’t have ever thought up and can’t imagine. I couldn’t comprehend it even if someone told me and pointed it out plainly.

Am I looking to see what God is doing?

A few things to add from today: had dinner with the kids at the house. Meat and potatoes! And Prossy, a woman from Uganda, had some food that someone else recently brought from their home country. African pancakes. Made of bananas, flour, and some root of something (sometimes you don’t ask.) They looked like thick ginger snaps. They were very chewy, and since I’m not a banana fan, they weren’t too appealing, but not bad. She was very excited to have them. “School children eat these every day,” she told.

When I left Spokane, it was around 5 degrees Fahrenheit. When I got here, there was a thermometer in the van that also said 5. Celsius though. It’s around 40 here. So warm! 500 miles away, in Opelika, Alabama, it’s around 50 or more! I’m starting to thaw.
