Christmas eve

Oh look!Oh look!Oh look!

My T Shirt matches our room!
Christmas Eve

After a night at Annies Place, (most of it spent on the internet catching up with family)
we headed for "Wicked Campers", to pick up our camper van.

This would be our mode of transport and home for the next 5 weeks.

Over the last few weeks we had been debating what we would end up with.

I was hoping for something a bit rock-n-roll and Skim wanted the bonking pigs, after she'd seen it in one of the blogs.

But what did we get.....

Harry (bleeding) Potter

Well I was gob smacked to say the least and Skim fell about laughing.....

How the hell am I going to hold my head up high driving this thing?

We had no option but to drive it away.

With head between my knees, I drove away.........

OK! You can all stop laughing now.

On with our journey.

The plan is to get to Sydney for the new years eve fireworks,
hit as many of the sights as we can along the way and we only have 6 days to do it in!

Just leaving to pick up our camper van....

Can we do it - Time will tell.............

Mt GambierMt Gambier
Mt Gambier

The famous Blue Lake of Mt. Gambier was formed out of a volcanic crater, which last erupted 5000 years ago...not too long ago in nature. The Blue Lake mysteriously turns from a winter grey colour to a brilliant azure blue in the month of November, lasting till April. This has been a mystery for many, many years...until it was finally scientifically explained to be attributed to a special algae that grows in the lake.
Trust me.Trust me.
Trust me.

It really is that blue.
No it doesn't match the shirt! No it doesn't match the shirt!

Now for the info..........

Umpherston Sinkhole, also known, as The Sunken Garden was once a cave formed through dissolution of the limestone. The sinkhole was created when the top of the chamber collapsed downwards. Now the topsoil down on the floor of the cave forms the perfect environment for the sunken garden.
In the sink hole...In the sink hole...
In the sink hole...

And not a gurgle monster in sight.....

Harry Potter and the Bonking Pigs
Well, really: there's been more money made out of the former, at least legally... [trails off with puzzled expression and embarrassment] Lovely to see the updates coming through! Don't know HOW you want to wallow in all that heat when you can have frost and rain and short days. If you'd had travel spinach, that would have helped you tolerate all this heat, you know! Lovely to see you both looking so well and happy with all this rushing about. Is Australia REALLY that big, or is it like Herefordshire with a bit of Worcestershire tacked on? [just kidding] So where to after Sydney?? It's quite a cliffhanger, this...
