We were astonished at what could be carried on a motorbike
Hi All,
We have made it to the capital where everything seems to be fast. We have spent much of today just sitting in a little (Vespa) cafe by a busy intersection. We have had front row seats, so we have great views of the peculiarities that pass by - especially on motorbikes or bikes. Our record is now five human beings on a scooter - two adults, three children. It is not unusual to see someone carrying eight crates of soft drink bottles, or a full sized (though not wide-mouthed, Jo) fridge (sideways), or two 21" TVs, or... you name it, they can balance it. This is all part of the entertainment known as Saigon!

It rained for the first time on our trip today. The humidity just got so high, it didn't have a choice. Quite unusual for this time of year apparently.

We are off to the Mekong Delta with Vivien and Alan tomorrow for two days. We expect to see a whole different aspect of this astonishing country.

Sorry, no pics this time - the camera cord is in our luggage at our next hotel already!

Lots of love to everyone

Interestingly the Vietnamese have recently brought in compulsory helmets - but not many of the children wear them!

Hi
Hi there travellers! What a fabulous trip, can't wait to see the rest of the photos. Really hot temps here 31 today and very windy 130km winds (apparently) - pretending (really hard) that we are in the Bahamas! Look forward to your next update. T xx
