So, it was a long plane ride as expected. The plane was older and the food has dropped a level or two on Cathay, but otherwise, they got us here, so no complaining. Penny got in 4 movies while I just watched people go to the toilet...I did see the girls next door a few times...very racy tv for an airplane. Once we had arrived, we were picked up and arrived at our hotel around 10pm Hong Kong time, or 6am in Vancouver...almost 24 hours awake. Sleep came very quickly, a few laughs before going to bed, there was a very nice diagram on the bathroom mirror warning us not to drink the tap water. The hotel graciously supplies us with a couple bottles each day, so we have our teeth taken care of. The morning came and we were picked up for a half day tour of Hong Kong. Got to one of the peaks and got a great view of Hong Kong. It was 20C and sunny, so the sandels are already in use. Still wear jackets and Penny did break out her mittons when we were in a shady spot. They took us to Stanley market, but we ditched the hawkers and climbed a hill, we saw a statue that looked like part of a temple...seemed more interesting at the time. When we got up there, we found a very large and loud dog guarding the entrance. Ever resourceful, we found a much longer way around the animal and got our pics of the statue. Was worth it, and wished we could have stayed longer, but that would have meant walking back to the hotel. After the tour, we went to the main shopping district on Nathan road and found the harbour view everyone talks of. Very nice, so now we are waiting for the sun to go down to take some pics of the light show. Hong Kong, so far, is a very cool city. They have so much going on, and the buildings are huge, not wide, just tall. There appears to be no sign by-law as they stretch to the middle of the narrower streets. We are looking forward to what tomorrow brings.

Nice Pictures!
Fantastic looking pictures. Not surprising from Hong Kong. I haven't actually been in the city. Just seen the view from the Airport, which is breath taking in some ways. And I know what you talking about the racy movies on airplanes these days. On my way back from Phoenix I had the opportunity to watch a let's say PG - 18 movie... started to but then decided not the best thing given that I had an 11 year old sitting beside me! Glad to hear you are enjoying your trip!! All the best Craig
