Lobos Island
It was up early for a visit to Lobos Island, just off San Cristobal, before brekkie. The beachmaster sea lion was dominating the set of steps where we planned to alight, so we had to detour to an outcrop of slippery rocks. We scrambled up to dry land, sending the crabs scuttling for cover. On the island we found smaller, dark marine iguanas, only just emerging as it was so early and still a little cool. There were lots of sleepy sea lions sprawled everywhere and plenty of frigate birds circled over the black mangroves, some males revealing a glimmer of their red chests. Back on board, we had brekkie and a morning snooze, drowsy from the Sea Legs tablets.

Sante Fe
After lunch, we visited Sante Fe, a beautiful little island with a perfect turquoise bay. A baby sea lion pup greeted us on arrival, under the watchful eye of the big beachmaster swimming up and down the bay. We walked along a path dotted with huge cactus, spotting Yellow Warblers and Galapagos Dove scuttling about the undergrowth. Sea lions littered the pathways and bounded up steps from the sea, while Blue-footed Boobies danced and hooted as we walked by. We found two large land iguanas (much bigger than their marine counterparts) basking in the afternoon sunshine. Just before we left the beach, Jase spotted two Oystercatchers with their bright red legs prancing through the shallows.

Back on board, we immediately kitted up for snorkelling and Edin dropped us off at the far end of the bay, so we could drift back towards the shore and boat. A lovely lazy snorkel! We saw several fish with electric blue dots, flashing at us in the water below - we think they may have been young mickeys. The highlight of the snorkel was finding an octopus, lurking in the rock crevices. The octopus ambled across the rocks and Jase free dived for some piccies. We finished the snorkel playing with a very friendly sea lion and regretfully got back in the tender. As we rinsed off on deck, we saw a group of rays swim by. Jase immediately wanted to jump back in for a closer look but Luis, our tour guide, was mardy and refused to let us get back in the sea. Boo!!!

Last Night Onboard
It was our last night on the ship already! The crew had spruced themselves up and were all wearing their whites (ironically emblazoned with the Scuba Galapagos logo, grrrr....). Dinner was delicious and we started with cute cocktails made with Tang squash, complete with paper flower! The food was delicious and we even had a celebratory cake for desert. We moored up for the night, so we had a peacful night´s sleep.

Yep, two pages of photos again!
