Edit Blog Post

Originally sung by Nancy Sinatra, but covered by punk/ska band Operation Ivy, so i don't lose any punk points. I've been doing this 'blog title with a song title' bit for a while now and assumed that whatever state of mind i was in a song title would be easy to come to as i own something in the region of 40'000 songs. However, there is no song i am aware of called
'Lake Taupo, NZ - Nature's Pornography'
or if there is i can't find it.
I've only been here for 2 days and its rediculous, this morning i sat on a deserted beach, by a crystal clear lake looking at three snow capped mountains. There are beautiful rolling hills, a beautiful walk along a wide, clear river leading to a waterful, which is just 15 minutes walk from thermal pools and bubbeling mud. I will have photos soon i promise (i lost my lead and am in the process of tracking down a new one).
The vegetarian family were pretty nice, i was there for a week and it seemed like i was only building up a good relationship with each of the three of them a day or two before i left, so another few days there would have been nice; oh well we sacrefice being able to do exactly what we want for the greater good because i promised i would be here at Tauhara spiritual retreat today.
So far so good, they have 5 or 6 wwoofers staying at any one time so its a bit more regimented than staying with a family, but hanging out with other wwoofers should be fun.
I've done 3 hitch-hikes so far and was supposed to do my forth today (the 7km from Taupo to here) but no one picked me up (in contrast to the others, where the longest i've waited is 10 min) so i walked the hilly distance with 30kg of stuff on my back. No fun.
This week doesn't have quite so many stories as previous weeks. I'm learning to except the daily gring of travelling, that not every day will be an adventure, just like real life. And that travelling on your own isn't really fun. That doesn't mean its not good; you end up swopping fun for other stuff, but it will be really interesting when people come to visit, especially because, by that point i will have had 6 months of not having to take into account other people's opinions.

Anyway, i must rush, love you all Chris xx
