This blog is definitely way overdue! Caleb has already been here for a week and a half, and I have tons to write about our time together. But, I thought I would still post up these pics from my trip to Kenting. My friends Craig & Helena offered to bring us with them for the weekend because they have a big truck. So, John, Nicole, and I joined the couple and their little baby Susanna for a relaxing weekend.

Kenting is very beautiful, and there are many places to explore. The five of us wanted a simple escape from the city life, so we spent most of our time at the beach. I had not seen such clear, green-blue water in years! John & Craig went snorkeling along the coral reefs, and John let me borrow his goggles for awhile. It was my first time to see such beautiful fish that weren’t in an aquarium, so it was a nice treat for me. Another highlight for me was the Western food - cheeseburger & fries, American-style breakfast, and Starbucks. We also had a lovely Thai lunch with some of the best curry I’ve ever had. Taiwanese food is great, but

it gets old after a couple of months!

Anyone who knows me can imagine that I spent a lot of the weekend “talking” with baby Susanna. She is so adorable, and it’s fun to get her smiling. I feel fortunate to be able to spend so much time with Craig & Helena. It helps me to feel as if I am part of a family, while mine is so far away.

Well, I’m sure I would have had a lot more to write about Kenting a couple of weekends ago, but I’ll leave you with this much for now. I am excited to go back to Kenting, and I’m sure I will have a lot more to say after the next trip. We’ll be leaving on Wednesday morning, and I cannot wait! It will be nice to have some relaxing vacation time with Caleb, plus he is itching to surf. The sky was cloudy during our weekend, so Caleb & I are hoping for a clear, blue sky and some big waves J More to come….

All of the Taiwanese people spend their time at the beach sitting under umbrellas, hiding from the sun. Actually, the beach was pretty much empty from 11-3!

You're right! Susanna is so adorable! It must be so much fun to spend time with her. Your vacation sounds just wonderful. I can't wait to hear about the past two weeks.
