Los Cabos
Postcard of the area Ok - sorry this is so late, but thought you might like to see some pictures of my trip to Cabo, Mexico in July. Better late than never!
I was invited by my lovely argentine cousin and godmother Cristina and her daughter Maria to spend a week with them in Cabo San Lucas, which is on the southern tip of Mexicos' Baja California. Leaving Dave at home to earn us some money!
After a two hour flight from Phoenix I arrived on a lovely sunny afternoon and after unpacking we headed for the beach, which we spent most of the week on.
Cabo is a small, lovely place with a mixture of American style bars and authentic Mexican places. The people are lovely and you can spend a fortune buying jewelery and other arts and crafts from the local people who walk up and down the beach all day. Although we did go to the beach everyday we did also explore a bit of the area. One day we took a small boat taxi to the rocks at the end of the Cabo. The water so clear that you could see all types of fish from the glass
At the Beach
Cristi and Maru at the beach bottom. Also saw lots of pelican on the aptly named Pelican Rock and some seals sunbathing on the rocks.
On another day we took another boat trip so that Cristi and Maru could dive while I snorkelled. Now the water was extremely cold so had to have full length wet suits to keep us warm. It was a great morning out, we stopped off at a couple of places and I enjoyed swimming around the fish until it got too cold!We also did parasailing, a first for me and was thankful that Cristi came with me. Although apprensive at first I really enjoyed myself and it was great to be so high up with no sounds and get the aerial view.
It was a lovely week by the sea and really enjoyed spending time with my argentine side of the family which I had not seen in a long time.
Gracias Cristi y Maria!
