Now I have gone and done it, I am under 160lbs. That was my limit for weight-loss. I admit it fully, I am too skinny. I just submitted some stool samples for the nurses, so after they get done testing my terds I'll know whether I have parasites or not and whether they are causing me to feel a little sick these last couple weeks.

I just completed two days of training for PC's Peer Support network. I am now a trained PC volunteer counselor. And....I was elected President of the group - yippee. Seriously, it was a good training session and was fun to get out of Puyo for a couple days and head into the mountains in the north of Ecuador. The landscape reminded me a lot of Arizona. Hot, dry, and lots of mountains all around. We stayed at a small resort north of Ibarra. The training was fun because it was run by all volunteers and we had no PC staff hanging around ordering us.

I took a short hike last night up one of the mountains. Molly (a PCV in my omnibus) and I spotted a lone tree on the top of a mountain just across from the resort. We decided we wanted to get to that tree. We were planning on a two hour hike, but managed to reach the top in 20 minutes. The first 10 we had to climb using our hands, but after that it was remarkably easy going. the return trip was longer, because going down the side of a mountain that is basically dry shrubs, loose rocks, and a 60-70% gradient is no easy task. We did the climb at sunset and it made for a couple nice photos.

I am envious, because my pal Roger is site-changing to this exact local. It was beautiful and VERY different from the Oriente.

Well, I am getting ready to head to Cayambe for 5 more days of Peace Corps training at our re-connect conference. Then.....get ready folks.....we come back to Ohio!!!

Peace,
Jeremy

Jeremy, it sounds like tapeworm! This could be worse for your liver than Yeungling...
