HouseHouseHouse

Nice house, but busy.
From Annie: Hi again , y'all! Thank you for your comments, Chris, Sarah, Linda and Verne (and Grammy).... Your comments are always appreciated. Well, in the meantime, we've grieved Timber and recovered. What helped us most was a dream that Greg had several days ago. He met Timber in a sunny field. Timber communicated with Greg telepathically. Timber told Greg that he was sorry for being aggressive toward him, but that things happened the way they had to. He was never going to give Greg control over him (or anyone else, for that matter). But he is happy where he is now. He was happy and grateful that we got him out of the kennel and made his last days here on earth so nice for him, giving him so much love and attention. He thanked Greg for that.
After Greg told me this dream, his mood, and Joey's and mine, lightened considerably, and we were able to move on. Yes, we're still thinking of getting a dog, but a puppy this time! Patti suggested we look into a Porty (Portuguese Water Dog). So we're doing that. We'll have to visit some owners in St. John to see if I'm allergic.
In the meantime, we're still looking for a house. We have our eye on one right in town on Main Street, 130 years old, beautiful Victorian, rock-solid. It was built by a doctor for his doctor son, took 6 years to build, everything is hand made. Gorgeous wood work, staircase, doorframes everywhere. The roof has a double layer of beams and wood-slats, which look like new. The current owner is a small lady, our age, a dynamo. She's been in there for 14 years, only the fourth owner of this house. She and her daughter were supposed to live in the house, but then her daughter up and died on her in a car crash. So the mom poured all her energy into this house, making it pretty. It would have lots of room for all you guys to visit---but not all at the same time, it's not THAT big. Only one teensy weensy problem with this house, it's right on the busiest road in town, and it's loud! It would be very costly to sound proof it, what with it's 44 windows 'n all. But it's gorgeous. We're not rushing into anything though, you'll be happy to know. First time buyers, green behind the ears.So we're just looking, looking. There's also a house with 2.5 acres outside of town he's interested in. We already saw it once, nice, but mold in the basement. We told the real estate agent, who told the owners, who apparently had a crew in the very next day to fix the problem. Good for them, I say. So, Friday we'll have another look at it. In the meantime, our little old rental house is doing us very well. Last night there was a power outage, just after Joey and I had gone to bed. Greg went outside with his flashlight, reporting through the window. The whole neighbourhood came out with their flash lights, you couldn't see the next house down, it was so dark. The night sky was amazing, apparently. I can kick myself for not dragging myself out of bed to see that. I'm hoping for another power outage soon, so does Joey. It was his first day at school today, second year French immersion, grade 7. He seems to have a nice teacher, and his friend Aaron is in the same class. Talk to you soon. Lots of love from NB.
