Dim SumDim SumDim Sum

The table isn't messy yet as still awaiting most of the food at this point.
After another lie in, we headed down for the much hyped Dim Sum. It's basically a breakfast/lunch which is very popular amongst the Chinese and consists of many (and I mean many) Chinese delicacies. As with all eating in Hong Kong, it is regarded as a very social activity, however, since we are loners here, we had to have it by ourselves.

Gary's eyes were bigger than his belly and he ordered 6 dishes, only 1 of which we had ever had before. After dish #4, fatigue set in and we felt rather foolish for ordering so much. We didn't feel too bad though as we were the only non-Chinese who seemed to be in the very full restaurant. The Chinese tea however tasted very pleasant and helped wash some of it down.

At this point we decided to move our flights back two days to have longer in the city, which caused some language problems, however we managed to get it organised. We had so far really enjoyed our time in Hong Kong and felt 4 nights wouldn't give us enough time in the city.

We set off later for our dinner invite on a different island.

Top deck view from the tram. We only just realised it's the only tram photo we have considering we used it all the time.
After several train journeys, we reached the residence in Tsing Yi and enjoyed a lovely buffet meal with many delicacies on offer. A moon cake was served for dessert and explained as an equivalent to our Christmas pudding in terms of tradition - an acquired taste!

After great hospitality we headed back to Hong Kong and had another search for wine, but still, no joy. We decided to try one of the hotel bars which promised alcohol and great entertainment. It may have been a bit optimistic in its promise. A small glass of wine and pint of Tsing Tao (sadly not "on the house!") set us back 8 pound so we headed to our room. Alcohol seems to be very expensive in Hong Kong so we made a conscious decision to avoid the equally expensive nightlife. We have 9 months to save our pennies for!

Another glass of water in our room helped us to eventually get to sleep.
