Taking a break while touring the zoo.
We are really enjoying our time here in Oklahoma City.

We visited the Oklahoma City Zoo on Monday afternoon and were impressed. There is a tram that takes you around the perimeter of the zoo so you can see the animals with a narrated tour. There are several stops so you can jump off to take a closer look and then jump back on the next tram. We stopped at the Gorilla exhibit and had a blast. For a while we were the only 3 people in the exhibit and all the gorillas were close to the glass partition interacting with us. In fact, Ivan and a 'toddler' gorilla played tag and ran back and forth for quite some time. The toddler gorilla would jump and play with Ivan and they had a good time....until "momma" gorilla came up and pulled the 'toddler' gorilla away. I wonder if she thought he was being too disruptive? All the other gorillas were just laying around. Ivan also was able to capture the attention of 'momma' too... and she gave him a kiss through the glass wall. I've been to many zoos....but have never seen animals interact so much and seemingly enjoy their

contact with the zoo guest. It is something I will remember for a long time.

On Wednesday afternoon we visited Omniplex which is an interactive science museum/fair. They also have a domed theatre similar to "Imax" so that when you watch the movie you feel as if you are RIGHT THERE. We watched a movie about the first expedition to successfully navigate the Nile river from it's source in Ethiopa all the way to the Mediterranean Sea. The photography was excellent and it was almost like being there.

We enjoyed the science exhibits and particularly enjoyed the 1916 Model T Ford which was on exhibit right next to a 1995 experimental solar powered car. What a contrast in such a short time span.

So, as you can see we are doing some sight seeing along with our visiting/relaxing. It's a nice pace! It will be a shock to our systems to have to pile back in our car the next time we have an 8 hour long drive. Which is coming up next week....so we better prepare. : ) Our next leg takes us to Roswell, NM which is allegedly an 8 hour drive....but I'm not so
