with ana and steph in zagreb
UGH!! I just spent 20 minutes writing an entry and lost it. Sometimes I do not like net cafes. lol

Lets try this again, briefly.

Budapest
I relaxed, went to a 100 year old Thernal bath and explored the city by night. I would have stayed longer had I been able to visit the 2nd largest Synagogue in the world but it would be closed the following day. So, Saturday I got on the train to Croatia. The ride was beautiful along side Lake Ballaton (the Hungarian Sea), a place that I may like to see some day. I did not eat any Hungarian food and I never found a postcard...

Croatia
I got to Zagreb Saturday afternoon, going to stay with Ana a CS i met in Armagh, Ireland as she was also hosted by John. Ana and her family were amazing hosts. I had 3 and sometimes 4 rather than 1. Her bro, sis and Stephanie a CS that spent the last 2 years seeing the world greeted me at the station, they collected my bags and then Steph and I continued around the town. WE saw the sites and then went back to the house

to have a phenomenal dinner ANa had been preparing for hours. They are such a lovely family. That night Steph, Ana and I went to the center to a bar to meet with her friends. We had an early night but it was lovely. Zagreb is quite a wonderful town really. I felt very safe and comfortable. The next day we took it easy and then went out at 5pm to a bar called Route 66, where we listened to an Irish band play (man from the Dubliners and his son) we also met 2 guys from Hells Angels (one from Arizona and one from Croatia). Strange! Monday morning I got on a bus to Porec a town in the North. I had originally planned to go South to the Dalmatia Coast (I wanted about a week or more in Croatia) but time is beginning to get restricted so I went North. THe town was expensive, I stayed in a room in an old wamans flat. It was great there although so pricey. I went out for Italian food, had gelato and walked a few miles or more to the Zelena Laguna, or the Green Lagoon. The water is clear and green/blue, perhaps because there is no sand mixing in it as it is all rocks and pebbles. It is nothing like the water I was supposed to be in had I gone South but it was great. I got a bit of a burn and decided to take the 30 minute train back. I witnessed a crazy lightening and thunder storm from my bed and listened to the rain.

This morning I got on the bus to Italy. I took the train then from Trieste to Venice. I did not plan to stay in Venice, but it looks like this single girl has found herself in the land of romance for the 2nd time. I found a bed after trekiing around and finding that the place I had decided I would check out was no longer in business. Some Polish guy guided me to a place near and I just booked it. I did not want to arrive in a city at night, that has been my decision along my journey when I do not have a host or reservation. I got a room for 30 euro and I am now in a bar using their internet.

I am sorry this is so brief, but I am still happy, healthy and loving my trip. I am going to get out and have some real gelato. Hopefully I will not get lost along these bridges as I did on my first trip to Venice. Tomorrow I am trying to go to Pisa, a place I did not get to see before. I would like to see that leaning tower. Who knows where else I will go really. I have less than a month and I foresee it getting very expensive. I am trying hard to keep my spending down. (for instance I had 8 nectarines in the past 3 days, because I had no kitchen). lol Ok CIAO FOR NOW!

Send me more messages, I love getting them. xoxoxox
