Today I went to the Sacred Valley of the Inca’s with Ed, Dave and Nadia. It was amazing and only a taste of what Manchu Pichu is going to be like. The terraces are massive, not like the small flimsy looking terraces that they currently make and use.

The ruins were amazing the way the Inca fit the rock together with out mortar. I climbed to the top of a small peak behind the main citadel it was a nice little 4-low 5th class scramble. The rock is really sticky! I would love to do some real rock and mountain climbing down here, hopefully next trip. After wandering around for a few hours we headed back down to Pisca for lunch and wandered thru the Sunday market. After a little haggling we hired a cab to drive us back to Cusco.

I met with the guide for my trek into the Salkntay. There are only three people on my trek so it’s going to be great. The trek will consist of me, Emmit from Ireland and Evi from Micronesia. Tomorrow I have to get up just after 4 am to be ready to go at 430; I’m all packed

and ready to go. So this means no updates till Friday night or Saturday morning. Wish me luck and may my heart and lungs handle the altitude!
