Temples of Angkor By
BallingerLewisJuly 17th 2007
Dom and Bex Our final day at Angkor was spent checking out some of the smaller but equally interesting temples that we’d so far neglected. The highlight of the day was difficult to decide on! Ta Prohm and Banteay Kdei felt mystical and untouched with trees growing within the stone structures. Banteay Srei was also special in a different way. This was a small temple about an hours motorbike drive outside of the main archeological site. The stone carvings here were the best we’d seen. The scene was beautiful; we arrived at the best time, as the sun was beginning to get low, turning the stone walls orange.
Before we left Angkor we paid one final visit to Angkor Wat, to watch the sun go down and say goodbye to the monkeys! This was a fitting end to the whole three days, which were very special to us.
