for all of the females out there, ferrarris are made in maranello italy, outside of modena italy. really makes you want to go there right? me, not so much, funny thing about cars, i don't really care about them. i drive a super ghetto beater truck that has been totaled. so i was not the happiest about training to modena to see something i had no interest in, marc was very patient with my grumpiness about that. we thought that we could just spend a few hours there and leave, no such luck with the train/bus schedule. so we have to stay there overnight, which makes me overjoyed! we find the campsite after asking around a bit, take a bus to outside the city, checked in and went for a swim. that improved my mood slightly. so after a large dinner of pizza and beer, once again, much deserved, off to bed. so we get up early to get to the bus station to get to the factory so that we can leave ASAP - did i mention that i didn't want to be there? so, to the bus stop...waiting.....waiting....waiting....2 hours later, motherf***er, the buses evidently don't run on sunday and we're miles outside the city and it's hot and i'm grumpy. so we start walking, walking some more, walking...marc offered to call a taxi but i needed to walk out my annoyance and grumpiness at the whole situation. macdonald's appeared on the horizon like valhalla, we stopped in like good americans and ate fries and a big mac and icecream. so then to the big bus station, we had an hour, did internet to find a place for that night, and then step on the bus. a few guys who got off had been to the ferrarri factory, hey, guess what, they weren't impressed adn said not to go...so that was a fantastic day in modena. we then walked to the trian station and my only requirement for that night was that we not spend it in italy. the rest of the night deserves its own blog - it involves a multiple-mile walk at 2 AM in cannes to find a camping place, setting up camp in the dark adn pissing off drunk brits, good times, good times. so anyway, if anyone ever visits modena, i can tell you about a camp site but not about the facory, never managed to get there. kind of like the time i was in banff and never climbed the mythicla mt rundle. so that was a rough day, but a few days in cote d'azur more than made up for it.
