Words can't describe how stupidly excited I am about this Summer. The tickets have been booked, the general route planned and my clothes are laid out in neat piles on the spare bed.

I wrestled long and hard over whether to take a travel hairdryer and came to the conclusion that it was a necessity i could not do without, so in it went along with my survival bag, first aid kit and whistle. (All precautions taken as promised mum!) And yes i promise to take my aspirin and drink lots of water on the flight.

The list of things I want to do and places I want to see seems to grow ever longer week by week, but high on the list are volcanoes, glaciers and caves as well as getting up close to the native wildlife. (That's whales, dolphins and kiwi's) I have promised to not get bitten or scratched by anything while in New Zealand, can't promise the same for Australia though! As you know i don't go looking for trouble!

The general route is going to be North Island down to the South Island with a hop over to Sydney and then back to the South Island. Fairly vague and random for now, the plan being to go with the flow and see what happens!

You've nearly gone
Hopefully the journey to Heathrow won't require water wings. The dog will feel more comfortable without the terrifying 'rucsack beast' lurking in the lounge. We shall miss you but know that you will have a trip of a lifetime. Keep safe and in touch.
