We are finally off! Because of the cancelled flights discovered on Tuesday, we have been e-mailing and phoning our travel agent for three days and didn't get the final details nailed down until this morning. I just want to thank Eugenia and Daniel at Airtreks for making the extra effort to get this all straightened out before we left. Thanks guys.

The net gain is now we have to spend one night in Bangkok, Thailand in between Sri Lanka and Vietnam. Good thing we all love Thai food. It'll be one more experience to talk about and one more country to check off the life list for the kids. Adios.

I am 43 and live with my family in Northern Virginia, VA, USA (near Washington, DC). In the 1990s, my wife Debbie Hill (age unknown) and I adopted three children from three different countries.
