Just a quick note to let you all know I got here in one piece. Got to say it's still all really surreal - don’t think I’m ever going to truly believe the last few weeks actually happened. Had a quick drive around on Sunday and even after that I'm still struggling to come to terms with things.

Had a great flight over and possible the most incredible landing ever in Sydney. The weather was bad enough for them to put us in a holding pattern for half an hour over the city until it calmed a little, so we came in through low cloud and rain just like in the worst sort of disaster movies, no lights in the cabin, being thrown around by all the turbulence, (it wasn't that bad, but humour me), hushed tones (that might just have been because there were only three of us in there), which miraculously broke with the sort of timing that was too perfect for words to reveal the skyscrapers of the harbour all lit up in the most beautiful fashion imaginable. Got to admit, like the tourist I am, I gasped. Going to be a memory that never leaves me I think.

Turns out it was the worst storm for 33 years - large parts of the Hunter Valley flooded - so it was a miracle we got down at all. Ange was worried they'd divert us to Melbourne. Luckily, I was too thick to realise that was a possibility.

Been pretty wet ever since, which is great news for the drought. Very cold and grey today - could be England in October. Hopefully going to go into the city over the weekend. Can't tell you how excited I am about that. Feeling good and things are going brilliantly with Ange. Carried on just where we left off.

Hope all's well with you all and summer's turned up at last. I'll try and put some photos up on the next one to cheer the page up a bit. Can't find Ange's camera at the mo.

Love to you all,

Stuart.

First Comment
Woohoo! I'm the first to comment! Let's ignore the fact that it's probably due to the fact that I got to read this while everyone else you notified were snuggled up in bed. Anyway . . . I've only found one spelling error . . . well, it's not really a spelling error, but you've used an adjective when you should have used an adverb. I'll take great pleasure in pointing it out to you when I get home. Big kisses . . . Ange
