Flight to Moscow

Approaching MoscowApproaching MoscowApproaching Moscow

The countryside around Moscow is very flat with open fields and woods. The trees in the wooded area appeared to all have been planted in rows.
Moscow right on time and Alexander was there waiting for us. Customs was a snap since everyone coming into the country has been pre-vetted by the visa process. Equally as nice was that Iberia lived up to its name and the luggage arrived WITH us. They are said to have the industry's best record on that.

The interim Rector of the seminary was there with his car and drove us first to buy groceries for breakfast, etc. and then to the seminary. Alexander showed us some of the seminary and introduced us to the work we will do. By then I was brain dead without any sleep except a one hour nap from Madrid to Moscow. So we headed to the room, unpacked, showered and went to sleep.

It got dark about 11:00 (I woke up then) and then it got light again by 3 a.m. So summer nights here are very short. We got up at 4:a.m. ate some breakfast and headed to the library. We started to sort the books into commentaries, sermon helps, history of the Bible, history of the church etc. We worked until they served breakfast to the students

Everything is in one building. To go to work we simply walk down the hall.

We worked til about 9:30 and fell apart. So we napped until 10:45 when Alexander came back and did our first lesson on the OPAC software. It is very good software for cataloging. Some of the screens are only in Russian but I think we have that about conquered with a few notes, etc. Tomorrow will tell.

We entered several books for practice, made decisions about some cataloging issues, ate lunch and then headed downtown
