Everyone was awoken at 5:30 and we had some breakfast before being shuffled out of the bulding and into another bus. We were then taken to the ferry terminal.

The journey was about 2 hours to Ko Tao and I spent most of the time on the top deck admiring the views of Thailands shore line and the many islands that are in this bay (The gulf of Thailand.)

It was also an incredibly beautiful day.

Reached the main pier at Mae Haad Bay. Wasnt sure what to expect but this being the main beach and town I was suprised by how small and basic it was. This being a nice thing of course having come from Bankok and all that. First impressions were good. There a fair few beach resorts all along the water front but mixed in with plent of palm trees.

Jumped of and flashed the business card the diving instructor (Emily) had given me in Bankok to the taxi (pickup truck) driver then hoped on and was driven to Chacok Baan Bay.

Chacok Baan Bay is is a gorgeous little bay, quite small but still fairly packed with resort bungalos and beach bars. Found the Sunshine Divers resort and was introduced to Natalie (one of the bosses.) She gave me a run down of what was involved in the PADI course then showed me one of the rooms (free accomodation during said course.) Apart from the lak of flush in the toilet (bucket of water jobby) the room was really nice and only 10metres away from the beach (I kid you not). Apparently it was the full moon party on Ko Phangan tonight which was why the whole place was empty (I was the only one who signed up that day). But Natalie assured me more people would arrive tomorrow after full moon. Hense I decided to start the course tomorrow (that way I dont do it on my own).

Went and dropped my stuff off in my room then laid down for a bit and fell asleep till lunch time. Went and had a bite to eat at the sunshine restaurant which was naff then went for a walk along the beach and through all the resorts.

Afterwards back at sunshine I met some of the more experienced divers and a couple (Canadian Sarah and her mate) were in the middle of watching, suprise suprise, family guy. So I joined them for a while before going to find an internet cafe (all very expensive round here.)

So disenchanted with the food at Sunshine I desided to find somewhere else for dinner. Two resorts down (at the very popular Budda resort) they were doing a BBQ buffet, which was excellent.

Afterwards headed back to Sunshine and hung out at the Eazy Bar and talked to the Instructors and instructors in training who were all really nice, Sound as a pound apart from a Chilean who was as cold as ice (and I thought you Chileans were cool!)

Anyway later headed down to the Budda bar (as Eazy was closing) with Patricia (really nice Dutch instructor) and Chilean Butt munch.
While there got talking to an English chap for a while who had just finished his course then retired for the evening.
