These computers are terrible. I just wrote something and then clicked on menu to get another site open and it closed all the windows, so now I must start over.

On Saturday we docked in Naples, Italy. Mom, sisters, Matt and I decided to take a hydrofoil over to the Island of Capri. Dad stayed and explored Naples. The boat ride was about 40 minutes and luckily none of us got sick because it was pretty darn rocky at times.

Once on the island we took a cab up to the city center area. Capri is a playground for the rich and famous. It was very crowded with tourists, but we didn't see anyone famous. There is basically any designer store you can imagine. We looked around a few of them but didn't buy anything (well Catherine got something, but no one else did).

We ate lunch at a nice little Italian restaraunt on a side street. It looked like it would be a great place for a wedding reception, and it looked like they were setting up for one. Apparently there are a lot of weddings in Capri because it is so lovely. Caroline and I wandered around in some of the residential neighborhoods and saw some cool houses and yards. They have tons of lemon trees. We saw this really cool ficus tree that was growing really strange (you just have to see the pictures).

After a while we all made it back down to the marina area. We went to the beach for a little while, although we didn't go in the water because it was quite chilly. The beach was covered in smooth rocks. We picked up a few to bring home. We took the hydrofoil back to the cruise ship and just barely made it back in time.

In the marina area there were some lovely yachts parked for the day. My favorite (and also the largest) was the Linda Lou. I am still trying to figure out who it belongs to. I have tried googling, but it takes so darn long on this computer that I am still waiting for the first link to load all the way (I started looking when I started writing this).

I tried to upload some pictures today, but it was taking at least 5 minutes, so I just gave up. When I get home I will just add the pictures to the entries, so be sure to check back next week to see all the pretty things.

Is it worth a few expensive hotel nights?
We're headed to Italy in October and were wondering if it was worth it to go to the Island of Capri? What do you think, is there two days of stuff to do? Just looking for some feed back from someone other than our travel agent.

Not sure how to respond directly to you, so I will just post my reply here. It was pretty crowded when we were there, but it was a Saturday and also a National holiday, so probably more crowded than usual. We didn't get to explore as much of the island as we would have liked, so I would be interested in going back to see the other side of the island. If you are looking to be busy the whole two days then it probably isn't worth it, if you want to stroll around the streets and explore the landscape of the island at a leisurely pace then it would be worth it.
