Day 27 – Saturday – Hurricane, Utah

Well after such a late night we all agreed to having a nice lie in this morning before heading off to see Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park (this time in the day light!).

Dean & I have to admit that after yesterday's effort and seeing 3 Grand Canyon rims in one day that we weren't completely invested in seeing two more national parks....silly us! We had a great day!!!

So first it was off to Bryce Canyon (ANOTHER whole in the ground hahah). But on our way we made an emegency stop as we found a patch of snow hahaha. Who knew - still snow on the ground here in May, almost June and when the weather outside is fairly warm.

When we got to Bryce it was quite spectacular. It is a natural amphitheatre of rock 'hoodoos' - spears of eroded rock - all in shades of coral, orange, peach and cream. The great thing too about Bryce was that it's only partially fenced off, so you really feel as if you're amongst it all. Of course if you did have more time (and energy!) it is

possible to go down to the bottom and walk around it all which would be cool.

Then it was on to Zion. The Canyon, Monument Valley, Bryce and then Zion all have such distinct looks and feels to them it really is amazing. It was great to actually see Zion in the daylight and all it's glory.

Dean has been bugging us for days now with cries from the back seat of "ohhh i'd love to climb that hill/rock" so we did actually stop and gave him the chance to give one spot a go. He only made it about half way up the section we were at, but in fairness it was pretty steep and the rocks were slipping but he had fun anyway!

After that we made it back home in time for some laundry and dinner and tomorrow....ITS VEGAS BABY!!!!! (Which also means you may not hear from us a whole heap)
