Angus makes friends with locals Hi all
Yay! (sort of) - Civilisation!- (sort of). Being very bad eggs, we sat in the van in Pt Hedland wondering what our next move should be. A strange kind of panic had gripped us as we realised that we really only have another month before we have to turn south again. Deciding NOT to panic, we left Pt Hedland and drove to Eighty Mile Beach for 2 nights R&R and what a good decision this turned out to be. This is the midway point between PtH and Broome. We had had lots of mixed reports about the potential of other stopping points along what has to be the most boring piece of road in the country(and that includes the Nullabour which was by contrast quite entertaining). The only place to stay here is at the EMB Caravan Park and Mike took some convincing that this would be ok as he is keen to spend more time bush. This turned out to be the friendliest place we have stayed with lots of folk happy to chat on the beach and in the park. There is very little to do but fish high tide once a day and watch the
