The one thing about Xi'an i really like is the street markets. I cant remember the name, but one street stood out. Most of the stalls were chinese muslims and the choice of food was superb. It was mostly dried fruits and halal meat, but i went two nights in a row to try more.
I eat all sorts of meat, chicken, beef, pork and many types of fish. Lots of noodles and a ton of melon afterwards.
There was also many historical buildings around the market. I went and saw an old fashioned house of a famous poliction many years ago. It was intresting enough and i also watched a puppet show, street dancing and singing. It was a good atmosphere and i really like the place.
I didnt see many foreigners in Xi'an. The market had tour groups of Russians that ran through the place every half an hour. Suprisingly many people did have a basic grasp of English though.
