No-one has ever accused me of being an optimist. I'm considered to be painfully realistic and almost unshockable.

History has now been made, however. I was relying on the "optimistic" rumours that the next referral would cover 6 days to LID 30 October 2005. This would give my batch a shot at being referred in May. However, the famous adoption rumour website has indicated that April's referrals will only cover 2 DAYS - October 25th and 26th. I knew that there were a lot of files pending for October and November 2005, but I was amazed and utterly disheartened (along with hundreds of adoptive parents around the world) with only 2 allocation days. I've being told that this is the shortest monthly allocation in the history of China adoptions.

Unless this is an unusual "blip", my batch and I may not receive our allocations until the end of the year. That will make it over 5 years that I have been waiting for Maya.

I'm beginning to think there is no pony...

2-day allocation
Caroline, I'm so sorry about the 2-day allocation. It must be so gut-wrenching to experience these unexpected delays after waiting almost five years. All I can say is that I really believe the pony is in there somewhere - you just have to keep shovelling!

Don't assume the worst.
Hello Caroline, I am genuinely sorry to hear the latest news. However, I would suggest to you that it is a particularly harsh analysis to assume that two day intervals will continue in the immediate term. I'm still feeling very positive for you. Love David

Dreams
Now you know I had a dream last night where you had a little girl. You are better translating my dreams than I am but I am taking that as a sign I feel optomistic for you and that the worst case scenario won't be realised. Regardless - the continued slow down must be quite devastating. Just know your friends will continue to be with you through the ups and downs of this journey. With much empathy. xK
