Surfing!!!Surfing!!!Surfing!!!

Learning to surf
We got to Noosa yesterday which was a welcome relief. I wasn't all that keen on Brisbane and the hostel wasn't so nice but it is lovely here in Noosa. We went out last night and the hostel actually had a meet and greet welcome meeting - it was like being on holiday : )
Today I went surfing!! I really enjoyed it. I had been hoping to learn somewhere along the East Coast and they have a good surf school here so I decided to sign up for a lesson. It was 2 hours and we spent a short time on the beach learning the basics and trying out our moves. They teach a 1-2-3 step process and it works. We went out into the sea and rode a few waves, just lying on the board and then started to stand. It took me a few goes but I was definitely improving and then managed to stand and ride many waves right up to the beach! Fab! It did feel good to be whizzing in and standing up and was easier than I thought. I can see how it can be addictive. I can obviously improve a whole lot

more and learn harder stuff but it was great to learn the basics. We also did some paddling at the end and had to catch our own waves, without the help of the coach which was great too. Anyone going to Noosa should definitely try Merrick's Learn to Surf Lesson!

The surfing photos are excellent! You look like you were much better at it than I was.
