Dorina:
This is my addition to the blog entry, and like Mitch said welcome to our little space of the web where you can read about our travelling adventures 😊
We've put our backpacks on lay by last Sunday, and we're slowly paying them off. Putting on that backpack at the camping store got the travelling bug niggling at my feet. I wanted to run out of there and start our trip right then and there! So by early August, our plans of travelling are going to feel that much more tangible. In a few weeks we're off to get our passports. I know it's early, but you know, in case we feel the urge to up and leave before next year hehe. The best part of this all, is planning it with my amazing boyfriend, whose enthusiasm brings me back to all those times when I was a kid that I was excited and beside myself about going overseas to a new country, or returning home to The Philippines to catch up with family and friends. I travelled a fair bit when I was younger, and now it's time to share it all with Mitch, and finally make it to Europe - the place I've fantasized about for a long time. The elation and anticipation of being on the plane heading to our first destination, to the overwhelming feeling of being in a whole other part of the world that words won't do justice to describe.
Writing this after our first year anniversary dinner last night at this great European restaurant at Albion - Bespoke - I'd seen a glimpse of how our nights and days were going to be spent overseas. No, not just expensive food, but indulging in the culinary experiences and intrepid culture. Drinking Italian coffee at the Tazza di Oro, whilst reading the newspaper and trying to decipher its meaning. Partaking in La Tomatina in Spain and retiring in the evening to salsa dancing and Sangria until dawn. Sharing a pint with mates at Oktoberfest in Germany - yes, I will drink beer, only because I'll be overseas. Stuffing my face senseless with waffles and chocolate in Belgium and Vienna. Satisfying my hunger urge for art at the Lourve in France. Island hopping in the Greek Isles, and romancing in Santorini. Indulging in the alternative lifestyle in Amsteram. Backpacking through Holland in clogs - oh, I will try! Talking to family and friends back home on Nokia phones in Finland. Basking in the history of Prague. All this and more. I can't wait!! 😊
So for now, we'll keep you guys updated during our pre-travelling time. We might spark some of your own memories of preparing for a trip or a long vacation away from home. Or you might have advice for us, so use the comments link wisely down below and share your knowledge with us 😊 This is definitely going to be an experience we'll never forget!
