Edit Blog Post

So, I haven't blogged in a while...but I have been seeing a lot of interesting sights. Actually this week has had a fair share of visitors and I have seen a bunch of new spots in Prague. Jared was here earlier in the week and we took him all over the city. Him and I went to the top of the astronimical clock tower in Staromestka (Old Town Square) and the view was incredible!! It is probably one of my top three things to do/see in Prague thus far. Of course, also on that list would be seeing the Jan Zizka memorial. Jess, Melody (Jess' friend from Tulsa) and I meandered our way up to the giant statue earlier this week. This place is incredible for so many reasons. Firstly, its in great neighborhood on the back side of Zizkov, near the baby tower but definitely in a non-touristy spot...very sweet. We also stumblied upon a super local, very cool bar that we returned to that night that has a pretty much impossible name to pronounce. Thirdly, the statue is Jan Zizka on a horse and it happens to be one of the largest horse statues in the enitre world. The view was panoramic and unbeatable (except perhaps the view from Vysehrad is better). Also, the statue is right outside the Masoleum where famous Czech communist leaders are held and the remainder of Gottwald, his embalmed hand. Lastly, and most importantly, Jan Zizka is pretty much the coolest Czech guy ever. He led the Hussite army for thirty years blind or partially blind and taught them to defend themselves against the Catholic army with shovels, wagons and hoes, and he was undefeated in battle. He also wore an eyepatch.
Other things I have been seeing...my computer screen. Midterms are this week and of course there are papers to write. I probably have taken a long time to email some of you folk back recently...sorry. Between getting reading done, studying for mmidterms, writing papers, and partying it up with visitors, my replys have been short and far between. Much apologies for that...even with the good time I have had here, and yes, it has been a GOOD time, I still miss you all like the dickens.
