A new suit for FredA new suit for FredA new suit for Fred

We brought some of Wendell Winkler's suits over with us, donated by sweet miss Betty, and young Fred a great servant from Kioga was the recipient of one of these full sets, with a smile from ear to ear!
It seems like it’s been so long since I have been able to just sit and write for the blog that I don’t even know where to begin…

I didn’t realize how internet dependant we were until it was gone for these past few weeks! Communication is such a great blessing over here! It’s our constant connection to family and friends back home and we have missed hearing from you all and being able to share with you what’s going on here throughout the week.

We have made the move to Moshi, with probably one truck load left in Arusha that needs to be brought this way sometime this next week. The kids all love having a little more space of their own with their own bedrooms and a large yard to play in. We have a guest house out back with three extra external rooms, and we’re using one of those for a permanent classroom for the kids to be able to go to school each morning, have their own desks, books, and finish their assignments and then to be able to lock the door behind us and go play when we’re done for the day. It’s been wonderful, up to this point we had been using the dining room table and having to drag it all out and put it away again every day. This way we seem to have more of a normal routine and it has made school so much easier! The other two rooms are there, set up with extra beds waiting for you to come and visit us…. Right now we have 2 twin beds in each room and they both have their own bathroom and shower (Hotel Richardson at your service!) But honestly we are really excited about being able to use them all through the summer housing guests and visitors wanting to come and work in Moshi with us. We’re going to try to get bunk beds built before the campaigns so that 4 people can stay in each room. But with Kelly gone to school that frees up his double bed as well for two more in the house, and Garrett graciously says he’ll sleep on the airmattress and give up his bed too… and of course we do have couches and tents as well… so there’s always room for more. RSVP first to get the best rooms and beds!

We were surprised one morning to look out as we were tilling up the garden and see where the clouds had cleared and you could see Mt. Kilimanjaro from the yard just as clear as a bell… I guess it had been cloudy everyday before that ans we had never seen it, but we all just stopped and stood in awe of the massive mount in all it’s glory...and the whole family has happily worked in the garden everyday since. Brent is trying to do a trial run on a “Survival garden” to be able to teach to the Tanzanian people, preachers, and congregations to be able to use in times of severe drought and to be able to feed their families and friends in their communities. So our back yard and family has turned into the testing grounds for the drip irrigation system. We’re just looking forward to some good cantaloupe and watermelon along with a few other veggies that are hard to find around here like squash and okra

We have new missionaries in place now with the Baker family having arrived about two weeks ago;John & Angie Baker and their two swet children Daniel

These three external rooms are for our visitors and one is being used as a classroom for the kids!
age 3 and Abbie age 1 and Cory Hall, John Hall’s cousin arriving as well to work with us here in Moshi for the next couple of years. We have been settling into the new house and love living and working here in Moshi! It’s been quite a change, but one we think will be for the benefit of the team as a whole, and although we miss seeing everyone back in Arusha as often as we used to, we are quickly making new aquantainces and setting up new studies here in Moshi as well. The missionaries in place here in Moshi consist of John & Cory Hall, Charles Creel, and ourselves and soon to be arriving will be George & Joy Jensen, along with their 4 children (teenagers) who will also be joining us in the Moshi area. We think we may have found a house now for the Jensen family who will be headed this way, Lord willing before too long now!

Cy & Stephanie have returned from their furlough and have brought with them Exel Aultman, Stephanie’s mother for her first trip to Tanzania. We have several guests here already, Ted Cherry (from the Houston area), Eric Brandall(a missionary from the Island of Vanawatu), Wayne Burger (from Bear Valley) and all three were able to share in the ACSOP 2007 Graduation celebration this week as well. There were 16 students who graduated and received their Bachelors degree in Bible from Bear Valley from the Andrew Connally School of Preaching here in Kisongo. The new class. Kelly’s class, will begin in just a few weeks at the end of March. And we know he is getting excited about moving into the dorms and becoming a part of the school there. The house will be a little quieter, but I am quite sure we’ll see him on the weekends for a good home-cooked meal and some clean laundry. (like any freshman beginning their first year in college)

We are all doing really well... Happy healthy and busy! We miss you all and hope to be hearing from each of you soon! All our love, Julie
