When in Argentina....When in Argentina....When in Argentina....

Neither of us has ever done one of these photos...but it was too funny...we couldn´t pass it up. We were in La Boca.
We totally understand now why people rave about Buenos Aires. It really is a beautiful city (and remember that's coming from confirmed NON-city people!). We rented an apartment in the Palermo Viejo barrio and thoroughly enjoyed that. After so much travelling around, we enjoyed coming back to the same place to sleep for a whopping 5 nights in a row. But did we kick back and relax? NO! No time for that...we had a city to see. We made the rounds at the amazing street markets in Recoleta, San Telmo, and Belgrano. We watched tango dancers in the streets in La Boca. We walked the labyrinth that is the famous Cemetario de la Recoleta, where the elaborate crypts and mausoleums cost more than most houses in Buenos Aires. We took the subté (subway) all over the place, and never got lost once! We ate a lot of sushi (hooray to have choices!!). We got to know the kitty that hung out at "our" neighborhood supermercado. We stolled among the throngs of people on the Florida pedestrian mall. We laughed repeatedly at the unprecedented amount of love for The Simpsons. Oh, how we wish we had bought more of the Homer Simpson

The paseaperro (dog walker) is a common sight in Buenos Aires. And it's not unusual to have a dozen dogs. Wish they would carry a few more "scoop the poop" bags.
dressed as Che Guevara T-shirts!! We walked and walked and walked, stopping occasionally for a copa de vino or a Quilmes Bock. Overall, we had such a great time. This city, and this entire country is one I can't recommend highly enough. We will definitely be going back.
