We have just arrived in Cambodia, as soon as we departed from Thailand through passport customs it was a completely different story all together, we walked a hundred yards or so and the whole status of the place changed, there were children as young as four begging in the street bare footed and dirty some people were behind what looked like a prison feeding their hands through the bars for money as we walked by, I just couldn’t look. I could smell the worst smells rotten eggs and a lot worse. People wearing raggy clothes pulled carts of goods such as vegetables to exchange backwards and forwards across the border through parallel gates, they were like cattle at market. The streets poor and dirty tattered market stalls and small children hanging around carrying bin liners wearing dirty pokamon t-shirts and no shoes. I had a photo taken with one little boy i gave him 20baht for it that is around 30p, he was so grateful.
We got on the bus, a very old broken seated vehicle holes underneath the lino floor, the roads are of a off road pot hole quality just sand and dirt no tarmac, the ventilation has broken

Here are the carts they use to transport goods
on the bus so its quite warm, we begin our five hour bus ride absorbing every bump and hole in the road getting thrown feet in the air over the large ones! Cars overtaking coming head on towards us, agh! The vehicle in Cambodia do not have mirrors so to warn other drivers of their presence they beep the horn, this got really annoying. I was prepared to crash at any moment it was so unsafe but luckily were still here and ok just have bad backs.
Still on the bus its getting dark the very poor houses at the edge of the road consisted of wood and corrugated iron, I could see that there were only a few places with an electric light the rest were glowing from fires alight or just in darkness. We arrive at Siam reap.
