Got up early to jump on to the Kimi Experience bus for Paihia Bay.

Didnt get off to a good start as the 4 guys sat in front of me appeared to be still drunk from the the night before (not a bad thing but) were continuously arguing between each other on avariety of subjects (really annoying.)

While on the bus I noticed that about 3 other people appeared to be wearing the same shorts as me (the ones I bought the day before - they were on sale!)

It was about 4 hours with a stop in the middle for some breakfast.

Reached Paihia where the sun was beaming. summer was in full swing with everyone wondering around in beach bum mode.

Paihia is very beautiful with two nice beaches and a variety of bars and Cafes. It is also the situated within the Bay of Islands.

I booked myself in to go swimming with Dolphins the next day and checked myself into the hostel (arranged to have a barbi in the evening.)

Went to grab some lunch and ate it on the beach while listening to my Ipod and admiring the bay.

Decided later to go walk up to the top of the hill where the treaty of Waitangi was signed (land treaty between the british crown and Maori people.) Started walking down a path to see some local waterfalls only to find out later that it was 5 km away. Decided that if I went through with it I would end up missing my barbi.

Gave up and started to head back. Bumped into a scotts man (going through a real mind blank at the moment with names) and made it back just in time for the barbi and of course more importantly our free pint of beer.

It was a good barbi and filled a hole. Met up with a couple of guys Id had a drink with in Auckland. In turn we all got talking to three Danish girls (Really sorry Olly no photos, but Im working on it!!) and decided to all go to the bar next door since we were being thrown out of the Hostel one (it was now midnight.)

The bar next door did cheap beer and was doing Kareoke. All the music played Kareoke wise and by the dj was all 80s. We had a relatively good time but everyone was of the same mind in thinking that this bar was rather terrible (I agreed but didnt let on that I secretly quite enjoyed it.)

Danish girls left at 2:30 I left at 3:00 with scottish dude (still quite tired and didnt see any point of hanging around anymore) the rest of the guys went looking for somewhere else.

I agree with Olly on this. I've only been reading your blog for the photos of hot looking backpacking girls, and they seem to have dried up recently.......
