vilnius alytus ladzije suwalkie bialystok warszawa .................unforgetable

Yesterday was a rough (and crazy amazing) day on the road and the whole journay lasted for 12 hours.

Serious problems getting out of Lithuania's capital.Caught the tram to get out of the city.
Hard to find good hitching position...Long wait, no ride.
April had her leg hurting really bad. But she's a tuff girl...after some painfull 30 minute walk to the highway's gas station we could get a ride to Alytos in a sportive car ( here a lot of people TUNE their cars.but they don't look crazy as in Portugal... ) .

We needed to get to Ladzije, near the Polish/Lithuanian border.
This fat guy, Danijlo, drove us 3 km down that road and stoped at a bus station in the middle of nowhere. Silence and peacefull white again... it is getting dark.
Here comes a nice old man driving his green lorry. So warm inside! Feels cozy , like a home.I am loving these trucks.
April is almost asleep..........he took us to Ladzije, to the road that goes to Suwalki, Poland.

After a while we got ride to Suwalki with a guy named Matchek. POLAND! crossed the border at 19 , local time.
Suwalki -

beautiful river Neris waving through the city...
Bielstok with Jerry ( yurek, i think) a hippie old crazy spanish speaking truck driver , on a lovely brand new VOLVO truck . ( i got a polish music cd from this guy! i wonder how it sounds...?)

Bielstk - Warsow was the hardest time. no ride. it was night already.... no ride.
finaly a girl with a dog takes us to the highway to warsow and there, after some 30 minutes we got a white van to stop. It was Morcin (?i couldn't understand your name the way you wrote it, man, i'm sorry...)) , a student of industrial engineering like me, driving a van full of carpets to warsow. hurray!!
The trip was easy, chating along the way...it seemed so fast. In a minute I was seeing the great Wisla ( we meet again.who would imagine...) the biggest river in Poland with warsow's city lights behind...

Morcin was a great guy. He was kind enough to bring us to the train station, where i was suposed to meet my friend Kasia. She also bothered to pick us up in the middle of the night! it's been incredible so far...

She came to pick us

up with her brother and i can't thank her enough for the great and warm reception. We were treated like Kings.

That is what i've been getting on this journey: amazing people.
On the hardest times and when you don't expect so much suddenly there is someone showing and making it all great and puting a smile on your face.
I don't know if there is a God or something or someone pulling the strings up there, ...

I realized just yesterday how lucky I have been...

( and secretly i thank each and every person
