We left TNP this morning and headed for Wellington City. We drove through and stopped off at some interesting places on the way. The first was Okune, which is famous for carrots, so much so that they have erected a large carrot at the start of the town. Similarly, in Huntsville they have a dog statue and banners with dogs on everywhere. We also went to another place which is famous for gumboot throwing (welly wanging) so we spent 30mins throwing black welly boots down a track. Our final stop before Wellington was Bulls. Yep you guessed it - everything is Bull related. All the names have bull in (relieva-bull = toilet; edi-bull = restaurant; exstinguisha-bull = fire station etc etc). Bizarre! We got to Wellington at 4pm and first impressions are good.

Carrots
I love the fact that the other town had the humble carrot as it's emblem and actually erected a large carrot at the entrance. Fantastic! Perhaps we should tell the Welsh to erect a series of leeks along the border to keep out the marauding English. Glad you're having such a good time. My trip to the Azores to research Wales is now booked so I'm leaving on 9 April but I'll be back before we meet up in May. Take care of each other. x
