Kathakali Dancer
This is one of the dancers we saw who is dressed as the son of the wind god. Because of his costume, you can tell that he is a good character. Hi, It''s Alia again! I hope you are having a great time back in the Westren hemisphere. I've been having a fantastic time here, and I have lots to write about. Firstly, I want to say that India's hard to get used to, and even now I haven't quite settled in. It's also getting very hard to eat out every day because every resterraunt is the same, with all the same food. Plus, there are flies and mosquitoes everywhere and stray cats and dogs (and mice in the windows) too. But what is also so diffrent is that the people who live here, don't even seem to notice! But enough of my complaining, It's not all bad. In fact, it really is worth all the effort of getting used to the place. For example, as shown in one of the pictures, two nights ago we went to an iIdian dance called Kathakali. i really thought it would be boring-well not the greatest, but when I saw it, it really was quite interesting. Mostly beacause of the way they didn't make many sounds, they just used facial expressions and body movements. Yet they were so good at it, that it all

hey alia, say hi to your mom for me. The beach sure seems nice, since it has been so cold in Vancouver. No more snow which I am thankful for. How are you managing the bugs/mice? Christie had a baby boy..no name yet. 6lbs 11onz
