Hello All!!
I am currently in Tasmania! For those of you who don't know... Taz is a State of Australia, but it is a separate island off the South East Coast.
I arrived here on Wednesday, and am currently in the Capital... Hobart. It is really nice here and relaxed. It is a far cry from the Sports Crazy Melbourne and the hustle and bustle of Sydney!
So what have I been up to sice I last wrote? Well as you will remember, my last blog seemed to have a bit of a 'Neighbours' theme... and unfortunately this does include a bit too. But all in all, I really enjoyed Melbourne, it truly is a great city.
Last Friday I went to go and watch the Cricket at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground). And this ground is huuuuuge! It is a 90,000 seater stadium! The attendance that day was 78,625. I watched Australia vs England in the one-day international. It started at 2:15pm and finished around 10pm. A long day... but the atmosphere was electric and well worth going... despite the Aussies thrashing us! I started off in the lower tier... then after a few hours went
to the upper tier! There was also alot of crowd trouble and violence (which I didn't expect at a cricket game) but there were occasions when Aussie fans were throwing punches at the English and sometimes even at their own supporters!
Oh and I got some great pics of the Legend that is Glenn McGrath!
I am hopefully going to see the one day international between the 2 sides on 2nd Feb in Sydney... if I can get tickets.
After the game, I was walking through the Crown Casino Complex.... and I bumped into 'Michael Grecco'! Who played 'Beppe' in Eastenders. He said sorry and carried on walking towards the hotel. He was in his poker uniform, as there was a Poker tournament called 'Aussie Millions' happening at the casino, with all the worlds best players competing for the $5 Million prize!
Then on Saturday... Me, Max, Jimmy and Matt (Jimmy and Matt are friends of Max that live in a flat in the same block) went shopping. Some pretty amazing shops in Melbourne.
Then on Monday evening.... Me and the friends I had made in Sydney (the girls from Room 9) went to Neighbours
night for Hardcore Holly's birthday! This is basically a night held at a pub in Melbourne where you have a quiz with Neighbours questions etc... But you also meet 3 Neighbours actors. The 3 I met were: Paul Robinson, Toadie and Janelle! (A pretty good turn out I thought!) Got some pics with them. It was a really good night and we all had a laugh!
On Tuesday, I went to Australia's oldest Zoo... Melbourne Zoo.
The reason for going was because I had been in Aus for over 4 weeks, and have yet to see a Kangaroo or a Koala Bear. So along with all the usual animals you see at the Zoo, I saw the Aussie legendary symbols. (I have included some in the pics). The Koala bear was really interesting, and I found it to be an amazing creature!
The temperature that day was around 36-38 degrees celsius! With no wind or anything... I felt sorry for the animals, who were all trying to grab some shade.
So, I am now in Tassie! I arrived on Wednesday and had a look around Hobart.
On Thursday I went for a walk around and
past the Museum. And in the museum they had an exhibition.... 'The Ashes Exhibition'! It had the actual Urn of the legendary Ashes! Amazing to walk right up close to it. But due to copyright restrictions, I was unable to take any photos.
Today I went and had 'Fresh' Fish 'n' Chips by the port. They have these barges that sell all types of fish with chips... and it was delicious!
I am hiring a car tomorrow (Saturday) - found a company that will rent to a 19 year old!! And then I am going to drive round Tassie and then I leave to go back to Sydney on 31st Jan. I am especially looking forward to seeing 'Wine Glass Bay' here in Taz, as it is voted in the top 10 of best beaches in the world!!
I will be sure to take lots of pics. And I will go and see some Tasmanian Devils too... (Maybe even try and smuggle one home!) The creatures here in Taz are supposed to be amazing.
I don't think I will get onto the internet again before I leave Tassie, so it will probably be in Sydney that
I next make contact!
Take care,
x

Neighbours.
Find Joe Scully, he's the only neighbour worth getting your picture taken with. What happened to him did he get killed off, something about alchoholism, wasn't it. He wasn't laying in ramsey street with a bottle of whiskey and people sparing him change when u went was he. Also please confirm whether duck-billed platapuses are just ducks in little beaver costumes, or beavers with fake beaks. Ps: Pete Doherty had a head on car crash with the Dogs, all gone i'm afraid. The dogs last words were, 'since we gigged in woking no one takes us seriously, damn that bastard dean'. and pete doherty's last words were 'i wonder if i can smoke a hamster.'
