Mendoza: December 22 to December 28

After completing my last paper for my academic semester at Di Tella, my parents arrived on December 14 for a restless two-week holiday in Argentina. It was extremely pleasant to have my parents by my side for the Christmas vacations. We spent one full week discovering the busy metropolis before flying to Mendoza, the wine paradise of Argentina, to spend Christmas in an exceptional posada!

Our stay at the posada was a true pleasure for the senses! We enjoyed delicious wines, ate flavourful food, swam in the pool and horsebackrode throughout the fincas while admiring the Andes topped with snow in the background! The site was simply magical as the surrounding landscape was made of tree and fruit trees, wineyards and dry mountains. Besides, the architecture of the buildings and their setting on the land was the work of an exceptional visionary. Their structure was both imposing and sophisticated. One of the highlights of our stay at this outstanding location was the exchange of vows of JasonĀ“s mother, Annetta, and his now-husband, Scott. This memorable event took place on the terrasse at sunset with the birds singing...it was both emotional and intimate!

On the morning of December 27, we went back to Mendoza for a wine tour attended by my parents while Jason and I successfully signed a contract of a truck rental for our adventure in Patagonia with Annetta and Scott. The morning of December 28 was filled with emotional goodbyes as we were leaving for our journey to Patagonia while my parents returned to Buenos Aires for three last days in the capital.
