David decides to climb a statue in the center of Vienna
We arrived in Vienna approximetly a week ago.. and what a week has it been!! Both Dave and I got pretty sick... I had clear symptoms of the flu when we left LA..and it got horribly worst in Vienna.. and to make things even more exciting I managed to pass on my good fortune to my better half...things weren't all bad though..we managed to locate all the pharmacy's in our neighborhood.. and learned very quickly that Vienese have a soft spot for homeopathic medicine 😊

Our trip to Vienna was ok... Swiss air definetly has it's plus'.. but similar to most airlines.. not enough leg room.. specially if you live in a 6 foot body... Dave was not a happy man after about 6 hours in that seat.. and we had another 5 to go..ouch!

We were lucky enough to have Raf's sort of cousin (not really his cousin.. but more like a family friend who is like a cousin).. pick us up from the airport.. I cant even imagine how we would have carried all our bags on public transit...that would have been a disaster..Raf's sort of cousin and his daughter were the nicest people..they were so hospitable

a guilwein (warm christmas wine) stand at the end of our street
and genuine.. not only did they drive us to our apt (more on that later) but after dropping off our luggage took us out to traditional Vienese coffee and cake..and a stroll through the center of town..

Initial thoughts on Vienna... People here dress unusually formal.. Raf's mom was dead on..
Vienna loves Christmas.. and the city center is mezmerizing in Christmas lights..
Shopping.. Shopping.. Shopping... all sorts of stores everywhere.. the longest shopping streets I have ever seen.. H&M's and Lengerie stores literally every 50meters..Vienese seem to have some kind of an obsession with lengerie stores... we haven't cracked that yet..
