My feet have become itchy again and I’m off on a new adventure. Oct. 6 I leave on the big ol’ jet plane from Toronto headed for Munich to meet up with a Viking river cruise ship. My cruise companion is Anne Smith (Mary Anne Smith - no relation).

Our departure on the Danube actually leaves from Regensburg and winds its way through Germany, Austria and eventually into Hungary. I am looking forward to parking my suitcase and not having to move it until the end of the cruise. That will be a nice change from the touring I have done in the past where we move every day or two to a new location requiring the packing up of the suitcase and setting it out for the bus. This way the ship moves and takes me with it. Ahh, sit back and enjoy the relaxation.

We have booked a number of shore excursions while we are docked at each stop. Some are provided free of charge by the tour, some we have paid extra for and some we are going to just do on our own, taking a bag of bread crumbs so we can find our way back to the ship.

Expect another post on either Friday or Saturday depending on what’s happening.
